Characters- phantom of the opera

In the phantom of the opera, the first main character is the phantom that can be called as Erik. Erik plays as a very weird, evil and haunting the opera, as for example “the dancer talk about Erik in the dressing room, they were very scared because the chief stagehand, Joseph Buquet is found hanged”. To be obvious, he was killed by Erik who dissatisfied with the new directors. Erik was born in a small town outside of Rouen, France but sadly he was born hideously deformed. The most unacceptable event in his life is when her mother also doesn’t want to see his face since he was child because of ugliness. Due to that he becoming a very mysterious person and isolating himself. “People can hear his voices but cannot see his face. It was in Christine’s dressing room,Christine told”.

Besides,Erik is brilliant because he was the designer of The Opera house with many passages. He can be in every part in the opera house, wall to wall and he also can live underground lake and he build his house under the beneath of the opera house. In contrast, he also can be good men for example the ways he treat madam Giry, madam Giry knows that Erik is a human being and need loves like the other man. Thus, Erik will bring Madam Giry roses, until her becoming loyal to Erik.

Besides that, Christine daae is the other main character. She is a young, Swedish soprano. She can be described as loyal person and she is very passionate towards her career. “She left Sweden to be an opera singer”. In addition, she loves Viscount Raoul de Chagny her friend since she was child and they have been love until she becoming an opera singer. Furthermore, Christine also plays as an arrogant and selfish person because she can't accept a love proposal from Erik at first. However, she changed her minds after she looks Erik torturing her boyfriend when he captured Raoul and the Persian. Furthermore, Viscount Raoul de Chagny is a very young, rich and handsome guy. Hence, most girls are trying to seduce him but he refused to so since he is Christine's childhood friend and love interest.

Therefore, we can assume him as loyal and not betraying Christine. In the novel, he plays as a high status man who mingles with all the artistes in the Opera including Christine and likes to enjoy and soprano performances.

The Persian and the directors in the novel can be assumed as the supporting characters. However, they hold and play a very contrast characters. The directors are not believed in any mysterious ghost and tend to act like nothing would be happens when Erik sent a warning letter. They are likely greedy since they wanted box no 5 which Erik’s belong to be sold. Thus, something bad happened when the chandelier fell down and killed the audience. Additionally, the Persian is a loyal and holds a character as a guard in Erik’s house. Besides he is also helpful since he guided Raoul to the Erik’s house under the opera house.
